Missing good time with my waxing gibbous….. oh no……was it worth it? Milly Moon is my crown princess – what could cause me to miss precious moments with my flower moon?

support to ‘example’, (nuff said already) ’Ou est la swimming pool’ totally stole the rather teen orientated show at the grimy ex dole office venue in the grand ole city of York. mix of IT Crowds’ Moss and MGMT…..jumpin bliss

left during the ‘Example’ set, only to meet the ‘Ou est la swimming pool’ blokies on their way into a taxi with their set gear under arm. What darn lovely guys – such a groove, such a spirit (please on’t change if the fame monster bites ya!)

So night complete, only pit stop was half way down the a19, which turned me into Modern Toss’ Mr Sneezeman whilst listening to this….

I drove to New York, in my van with my friend, it was for freedom fom myself….I made a lot of mistakes……

Living legend Roky, diagnosed with schizophrenia and facing a potention stint of 10 year incarceration (for being caught in possession of one joint) was subjected to involuntary electroconvulsive therapy in Houston Phychiatric hospital and then again in Austin State hospital, who also treated him with Thorazine (Chlorpromazine). Nice. Thanks for that.

Rescued by his little brother he now controls his illnes with appropriate medication.

I hope he continues to receive the love and support that he needs.

Such a shame that, all too often genius is tortured…

Hunt and Drake, is it the end or just the beginning? In a quantum leap fashion I could exclaim that nothing ends, we are all connected and indeed one consciousness like holographs in a hologram and that everything is happening now. we are just energy passing into form, through form and out of form and energy can never be created or destroyed…c’mon argue against it Prof Cox. 9pm BBC 1 penultimate episode. But it will never really be over (and I am sure Drake will still be sorting the Boot Protect & Perfect range ads out. Do I want to be her or I am a bit in love with her, I really am still not awfully sure). Hoping that some threads are tied back up but I am hoping there is no overall explanantion, we are mere mortals and we’re not ready for that kind spirituality whilst Katie Price (et al) walks this ball of spit and soil. Warning. If it ends up being just a dream I will curl one off on auntie’s doorstep.

The real deep melancholy is for the end of True Blood season 2, although HBO are airing season 3 over t’pond in July. Can I still wear my Merlottes t-shirt? s that ok to do that? At the close of season 1 i pined for Bill, this time i will be awaiting the return of Eric – I don’t care about the dress, it made me like him more! I will also rue Godric, his calm knowing, justness and serenity and of course his vampire suicide. However, i am rather bored of the whole black eyes deal now and have noticed that seaon 3 would appear to be somewhat hairier…oh la la la, fresh meat? ha ha

Beltane or a rather Bacchanalian weekend

Ever seen the film ‘The Wicker Man’? If not, then don’t give it eyes before attending a Beltane Festival! Beltane day is 1st May, or traditionally, when the Hawthornes first blossom. It marks the coming of warmer weather, an opportunity to give thanks for the fruitful harvest to come in the later summer. Beltane is the FIRE festival and deals with all things FERTILITY.

So what can you expect from a Beltane festival? Beltane’s eve is the biggest bash. Usual entertainments are the pagan blessings, fancy dress, mucho mead and mirth, folk singers and possibly pyrotechnics….it is traditional to jump over fire.

And now it is also tradition, having engorged in much excess, to cleanse oneself with a whole lunar cycle of nowt much more than vegetables to scoff and quiet contemplation amidst forests or deserted seashores….idyllic.

The term ‘Bacchanalian’ references the god Bacchus who alongside Dionysus were the gods of agriculture, wine and pleasure. The Romans honoured these gods with orgiastic revelry that lasted for days and/or weeks and then abstained from fodder, booze and sex to cleanse their bodies, post piss up. In 186BCE the Roman governors tried to abolish the festival viewing it as a threat to family. Despite the ban the feasts continued until they were eventually adopted into Christianity as the forty days of lent after one single day of partying – hardly the heart of the Festival of Bacchus which is carelessness, ecstasy and unbridled happiness.

Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Where the Wild Things Are, Jackass) has created a glorious online movie experience entitled ‘im here’.

cyber-sex?

After crossing a road to enter the cinema you virtually purchse your ticket (is free, yipppeeee) and you can then choose to invite facebook friends to join you, shuffling past their pic as you take your seat.

Novelty aside, the film itself is a heart-warming tale of bitter/sweet robo lurve which is surprisingly emotive bearing in mind that the lead male has a pc tower for a head. Aska Matsumiya provides a breathy soundtrack a la Hope Sandoval which adds depth to the sensually directed experience and is sumptuous in it’s own right.
